Pacientes con sepsis extrahospitalaria ingresados en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos Pediátricos. Enero 2000 a octubre 2001.

RESUMEN

Se realizó un estudio retrospectivo descriptivo de 76 pacientes con sepsis extrahospitalaria, ingresados en la Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos (UCI) del Hospital Pediátrico Docente Provincial de Sancti Spíritus, durante el período enero 2000 a octubre 2001, en diferentes estadios, el mayor número se presentó en los menores de un año; del total de pacientes ingresados el 60.9 % fueron diagnosticados como síndrome de respuesta inflamatoria sistémica (SRIS), la sepsis y la sepsis severa representaron un menor porciento. Predominó la focalización en los aparatos respiratorio, sistémico y digestivo. El germen más frecuente fue estafilococos áureos. Fallecieron 9 pacientes que constituyó el 11.80 % de total de pacientes ingresados con algún Estadio de Bone. Se aplicó el Proceso de Atención de Enfermería (PAE) al 100 % de los pacientes estudiados.

ABSTRACT

A descriptive retrospective study was made of 76 patients with extrahospital sepsis, admitted at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Provincial Pediatric Teaching Hospital of Sancti Spíritus, during the period from January 2000 to October 2001 in different stages. The greatest number of them were those under one year of age. Of the total of admitted patients, 60.9% was diagnosed with syndrome of systemic inflammatory response (SSIR). Sepsis and severe sepsis represented a smaller percent. Focusing prevailed in the respiratory, systemic and digestive systems. The most frequent germ was golden staphylococus. 9 patients died, which represented 11.80% of the total of patients admitted with some stage of Bone’s disease. The Nursing Care Process (NCP) was applied to 100% of the studied patients.
