Editorial process of the Medical Magazine from Sancti Spiritus. Year 2012

El proceso editorial de una revista científica puede compararse con un purgatorio, en él se observa el nivel de preparación científica de los investigadores, se aprecia la cultura de publicación científica de los profesionales; se detectan errores que pudieran tener connotaciones éticas, morales y hasta jurídicas. En el proceso editorial se depuran dificultades que si se publican pueden ser graves como por ejemplo citar bibliografías que no existen, cambiar fechas para actualizarlas, o que simplemente las copiaron y pegaron de otros trabajos ya publicados y nunca fueron consultadas; se presentan conflictos de intereses, el trabajo no cumple con las normas de la editorial, en fin las editoriales científicas deben purgar las futuras publicaciones porque la calidad de las mismas es la que ayuda a que fluya el ciclo de la ciencia (que es la que trata de resolver los problemas del hombre), mientras más calidad tengan las publicaciones científicas más seguridad y confianza tendrá el ser humano en sí mismo.
La editorial de la revista Gaceta Médica Espirituana durante el año 2012 registró 161 trabajos de ellos se publicaron 58 para un 36,02 % de calidad en el proceso editorial.
A ello se puede agregar la pertinencia de la revista que fue de un 73 % con 38 trabajos que responden a problemas de salud en la provincia (23 % de cáncer, primera causa de muerte en Sancti Spíritus), el 22 % obedece al desarrollo del capital humano y solo un 5 % a otros temas, de ello se deduce que la revista es pertinente desde el punto de vista social.
Para lograr la calidad alcanzada en el año se revitalizó el Comité Editorial de la revista, se impartieron tres cursos de Redacción Científica para la superación de árbitros noveles en esta responsabilidad, así como talleres sobre la publicación científica y el sistema automatizado para el proceso editorial de la revista; además se informa el estado del proceso editorial mensualmente en el consejo asesor universitario, en los consejos de dirección de la Universidad de Ciencias Médicas y en el Consejo Científico Provincial.
En este periodo debemos destacar la labor de todos los profesionales que de una forma altruista dedican parte de su tiempo libre a la evaluación científica de los trabajos asignados, aquí podemos mencionar:

Especial reconocimiento merece el Lic. Rafael García Rodríguez por prestar ayuda desinteresada en la traducción de los títulos y resúmenes de los artículos que se publicaron en el volumen 14(2) 2012.

The editorial process of a scientific magazine may be compared with a place of purification, in this place the scientific level of preparation of researchers is observed, the culture of scientific publication is valued, and mistakes which could have ethical, moral and legal consequences are corrected. In the editorial process the difficulties are purified which may be very serious if published, such as bibliography cited if they do not exist, to change dates to update them or just simple to copy and paste from other Works already published in other Works and which were never consulted. There could be conflits of interests, the work does not comply the requirements of the editorial, lastly, the scientific editorials must drain the future publications because their quality is what helps the flor of the science cycle (science is what tries to solve the problems of man), the more quality publications have the more security and confidence the human being will have in itself.
The editorial of the Medical Magazine from Sancti Spíritus during the year 2012 recorded 161 works, 58 were published for a 36,02 % of quality in the editorial process.
The pertinence of the magazine may be added with a 73 %, 38 works are related to the problems of health in the province (23 % about cancer as a first cause of death in the Sancti Spíritus), 22 % obeys to the development of human resources and only 5 % to other topics, it is deduced that the magazine is pertinent from the social point of view.
To manage the quality reached in this year, the Editorial Committee was revitalized, three postgraduate courses were taught on Scientific Composition and the training of new arbitrators in this responsibility, workshops about scientific publications and the automated system for the editorial process of the magazine, the process and status of the editorial process is reported monthly in the University Counseling, in the Faculty Board meetings and in the Scientific Provincial Counseling of the University of Medical Sciences.
