Scientific potential and publication culture.

El potencial científico es un componente esencial del capital humano en todas las instituciones y centros laborales.
En los centros de salud y de docencia médica el potencial científico está compuesto por el grupo de profesores consultantes, titulares y auxiliares, másteres, doctores en ciencias y los especialistas de segundo grado. Es lógico pensar que este grupo de profesionales no es numeroso en las instituciones.
La dedicación a la docencia y a la investigación avala el devenir y desempeño de estos profesionales, lo cual debiera estar validado por los cambios de las categorías docentes y científicas que se hayan logrado; y esto a la vez debería materializarse en una alta de producción científica y no sucede así; vale la pena entonces hacer un análisis del por qué se ha perdido la motivación de publicar todos los resultados científicos (aprobados por los consejos científicos) realizados por los profesionales de la salud? ¿Será que se ven las publicaciones solo como un molesto requisito que hay que lograr para ascender en la pirámide científica y cuando se logra el objetivo ya no se publica más? ¿La ciencia no debe ayudar al mejoramiento de la salud y calidad de vida del hombre?
Si se trabaja denodadamente, es decir, si se investiga constantemente ¿por qué los resultados de ese trabajo y esas investigaciones, no se hacen visibles en las revistas cubanas y en otras del resto del mundo? Si no damos a conocer nuestros resultados, es como si no trabajáramos, ni investigáramos, algo lejano de la realidad, no podemos detenemos ante los errores señalados en un artículo que presentemos en una editorial, hay que aprender a corregirlos y seguir adelante una y otra vez, no puede haber paso a la morosidad, ni al retroceso porque la ciencia tiene que darse a conocer de la forma más perfecta posible, no podemos darnos por vencidos ante los señalamientos y ganar en tenacidad lo que ya tenemos ganado en esfuerzo y trabajo.
Hay que lograr una cultura de publicación, publicar periódicamente para informar el estado de las investigaciones en ciencias de la salud y así seguir el ciclo necesario de la ciencia, que es en definitivas la que ayuda al hombre en todo aspecto de la vida.
Pertenecer al potencial científico, es ostentar una distinción especial dentro del capital humano, pero no basta llegar, tenemos que producir constantemente y dar a conocer nuestro trabajo sin cansarnos, como expresó el escritor alemán Bertold Bretch: “Y hay los que luchan toda la vida… Esos son los imprescindibles”. Logremos que nuestro valioso potencial científico sea imprescindible.

The scientific potential is an essential component of human capital in all facilities and laboring centers. In health facilities and medical teaching centers the scientific potential is composed by the group of consukltant professors, ful, professors, associate professors, masters of sciences, philosophy doctors and 2nd degree medical doctors. It is obvious to think that this group of professionals is not numerous in these facilities.
The dedication to teaching and investigation endorses the suitability and accountability of these professionals which could be underwritten by changes in the teaching rank process, scientific rank and the same time could materialized in a high scientific production, but unfortunately it does not happen this way. It is worth while to make an analysis to master why the motivation towards publishing all scientific results carried out the health professionals have been lost (with the approval of scientific staffs) Could it be that publications are seen as a modest requisite to manage just to promote in a scientific pyramid and when the objective is managed professionals do not publish anymore? Should not science help the improvement of health and man life-quality?
If we work courageously, that is, if we investigate continually, why do the results of these works and these investigations are not visible in Cuban magazines and in other magazines worldwide? If we do not let know our results, it is as if we do not investigate, something far away from our reality. We can not stop in front of the mistakes highlighted in any article by the publishing house, we must learn to correct them and to go on, we can not give path to postponement or recession because science has to be known in a more prefect way, we can not quit due to signalizements and must gain tenacity by gaining efforts. We must gain a culture of publication, we must publish periodically to report the state of publications in health sciences and in this way to go ahead with the necessary science cycle, which is definitely, the one which helps man in all aspects of life.
To belong to the scientific potential is to hold a special distinction within the human capital, but it is not enough to reach, we must publish periodically and let know our work as stated by the German writer Bertold Bretch: “The ones who fight all life long, they are indispensables” Let us manage that our valuable scientific potential be indispensable.
